Chaeryeong of the group ITZY (있지) is set to prove her strength as a solo artist.

Chaeryeong will release her first solo mini-album, "Lovesick" (러브시크), and its title track of the same name at 6 p.m. on November 9. Following Yeji and Yuna, Chaeryeong is stepping up as ITZY's third solo member, aiming to widely showcase her unique personality and presence. The comment sections on the group's official social media channels, where teaser content such as album trailers, schedulers, and concept photos have been uploaded, are filled with enthusiastic reactions like "I look forward to the music and stages Chaeryeong will show as a solo artist," "Chaeryeong is someone I can't help but cheer for," and "She has an alluring charm, so I think she'll do well." We looked into why worldwide fans are waiting for "solo Chaeryeong."

Since debuting as a member of ITZY in February 2019, Chaeryeong has smoothly and gracefully handled the group's high-difficulty choreography, earning praise from K-pop fans that her dancing is "like feathers." In ITZY's latest 2026 world tour, (터널 비전), she provided a soft center to the stage for "THAT'S A NO NO" (nicknamed "Daechu No No"), driving its reverse-charting popularity. At ITZY fan meetings, she covered songs by senior solo artists such as Gaein and Sunmi, sparking heated buzz. In popular dance challenge short-form videos, she showcased her solid fundamentals and distinctive dance lines, fueling the hopes of MIDZY (the fandom name) both domestically and internationally for a "Chaeryeong solo debut." Attention is now focused on what performance Chaeryeong will deliver in her solo debut track, "Lovesick."

For K-pop fans and the general public alike, the name "Chaeryeong" evokes pure and quirky moments from various variety show content, as well as her memorable meme-worthy quotes. During her first appearance on JTBC's "Knowing Bros" (아는 형님) in 2019, she made a historic first impression by asking the impressive lineup of senior MCs, "Are you laughing?" She also heated up the online world and recorded high view counts with the so-called "Pringles incident" on Lee Young-ji's YouTube channel, "It's Not Much, But I've Prepared This" (차린 건 쥐뿔도 없지만). In her own live broadcasts, she showcased green grape ASMR in a soft-spoken tone, delivering unpredictable reactions like "You say it sounds like chewing walnuts?" She also taught the shoulder dance, a key move from "WANNABE" (워너비), earning her the nickname "Professor Lee Chaeryeong."

Chaeryeong's fashionable charm also captivates fans. Her personal social media channels are adorned with natural yet uncommon outfits and trendy sensibilities. Her fashion, which matches a feminine mood with point colors, keeps viewers wanting to look closer. Recently, in the concept teasers for her solo debut album "Lovesick," which JYP Entertainment has been releasing sequentially, Chaeryeong's highly sensitive personality is embedded, raising anticipation. Riding this momentum, in the music video concept photos released at 12 a.m. on the 30th, she exuded a pure atmosphere in a white shirt and perfectly executed a glamorous styling that combined a hat with flower-shaped corsage accents, long gloves with a houndstooth pattern, and a green one-piece dress.
