"Did you get on the plane to Washington?" Except for Kim Hye-sung's minor selection "Shock," it was rather a good thing! Call-up possibility UP

It was rather favorable that Kim Hye-sung (27, Oklahoma City Comets) was suddenly excluded from the starting lineup ahead of the minor league game. The possibility of a call-up for the first time in nine major league games has increased.

U.S. media Dodger Nation said on the 5th (Korea Standard Time), "Mookie Betts' back injury was officially confirmed. According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Betts is likely to miss at least a few games.

"Whether the Dodgers will be on the injured list depends on the upcoming MRI results. However, there are signs that the Dodgers is already preparing. One of them is Kim Hye-seong, who failed to make the roster for the opening game. Kim Hye-sung was not in the Oklahoma lineup on the 5th after the news of Betts' injury, he added.

Betts was replaced by back pain in the bottom of the first inning in the regular season visit game between the Washington Nationals and 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. "It's not a serious injury," Roberts said in an interview after the game.

But there are already signs. Kim Hye-sung was originally scheduled to play in a minor league game against the Las Vegas Aviators at Las Vegas Ballpark in Las Vegas on the same day. However, Betts' sudden injury raised the possibility of flying to Washington.

Kim Hye-sung, who has been a starter so far, was considered a bit shocking. Before this game, Kim Hye-sung had a batting average of 0.346 (9 hits in 26 at-bats), two RBIs, four walks and seven strikeouts, and a on-base percentage of 0.438 slugging percentage.

"Kim Hye-sung is a contact type star in Oklahoma City," Dodger Nation said. "We have already been recognized for our elite-level flagship and top-notch defense," he said. "We were not on the opening list due to slumps and aggressive swings at the World Baseball Classic." At the same time, "Kim Hye-sung's technical part plays a complementary role in a team of top players. "I can cover defense all over the field, including shortstop," he said, explaining the reason for a reasonable call-up.

However, the possibility of a call-up has only increased to the end, and we cannot be sure. If Betts' injury is not big, it's not necessary. Dodger Nation also said, "The Dodgers' decision depends on their patience with Betts. Roberts recalled that he tends to be more optimistic about star players, giving them plenty of time and opportunity.

"If the MRI results are good, it's not surprising that the Dodgers don't put Betts on the injured list and give him time to recover a few games. Even if you don't play for the entire 10 days, you can put it back in the lineup afterwards. Regardless of how she resolves the position of Betts, Kim Hye-sung will stay on the fringes as a substitute," he stressed.
