A setback has struck the NC Dinos, which are making a final sprint to catch the last train for autumn baseball. Foreign pitcher Curtis Taylor (31) is sidelined due to injury.

On the 9th, NC announced, "Following minor damage to the right supraspinatus muscle of Curtis Taylor, we have applied to the KBO on the 8th to place Taylor on the injured list."

Taylor received a diagnosis of minor damage to his right supraspinatus muscle following an MRI examination conducted on the afternoon of the 8th.

This season, Taylor has shouldered 124⅓ innings in 23 games, recording 7 wins and 6 losses with an ERA of 4.78. While his performance was somewhat disappointing, he had never missed a start throughout the rotation, making this sudden injury particularly painful.

With only 27 games remaining until the end of the regular season, NC plans to find a replacement foreign player to fill Taylor's absence. The new foreigner can sign a six-week contract and remain with NC through the final stretch of the regular season, but will not be eligible for autumn baseball.

Nevertheless, NC's motivation is clear. Currently in sixth place with 55 wins, 60 losses, and 2 draws, NC trails fifth-place Doosan Bears by 4.5 games. While a comeback is not easy, NC has seven more games remaining than Doosan. Additionally, there are assessments that Doosan will be most significantly affected due to player withdrawals for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Furthermore, although NC has struggled against Doosan this season with a record of 3 wins and 8 losses, five games remain, leaving open the possibility of reversing their standing through their own efforts. The plan is to bring in a foreign investor who can help fill the gap in the starting rotation by participating as much as possible in the remaining schedule.
