This could potentially be their final home game in an SSG Landers uniform before the Incheon fans. Prospective free agent Choi Ji-hoon (29) and Han Yu-seom (37), who is in the final year of his multi-year contract, are both set to start.
SSG Landers announced its starting lineup ahead of the regular season matchup against the Samsung Lions at Incheon SSG Landers Field on the 9th in the '2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League.' This will be SSG's final home game of the season. On the 10th, they will move to Gwangju for an away game against the KIA Tigers.
SSG arranged its lineup in the following order: Park Sung-han (shortstop), Choi Ji-hoon (center fielder), Guillermo Heredia (left fielder), Jeon Ui-san (first baseman), Ko Myung-jun (third baseman), Jo Hyeong-woo (catcher), Han Yu-seom (designated hitter), Ahn Sang-hyeon (second baseman), and Im Geun-woo (right fielder). The starting pitcher is right-handed Lee Ro-un.
The most eye-catching names are undoubtedly Choi Ji-hoon and Han Yu-seom. Both players could face significant changes in their futures as of this season.
Choi Ji-hoon, the team's undisputed center fielder and table setter, will earn his first free agent (FA) eligibility upon completing the 2026 season. As a national-team-level outfielder who excels in hitting, defense, and baserunning, he is considered one of the top targets in this winter's transfer market, making this game particularly special for home fans.
Veteran slugger Han Yu-seom is in a similar situation. His non-FA multi-year contract, signed in December 2021 with a total value of 6 billion won over five years, expires at the end of this season. Although he is a star hitter who has shared history from SSG's predecessor SK era to leading the Landers to their first wire-to-wire championship as captain, much attention is focused on his future moves as his contract nears its end.
If both players embark on new challenges or change teams this winter, this game could be their last home game stepping onto the Landers Field ground in an SSG uniform.
Meanwhile, right-handed pitcher Lee Ro-un, who successfully transitioned from the bullpen to the starting rotation during the season, will take the mound for SSG on this day. It is highly anticipated whether SSG, fielding its best lineup led by Choi Ji-hoon and Han Yu-seom, can gift a victory to its home fans.
