Suwon KT Head Coach Moon Kyung-un has prepared a secret weapon to erase the loss in the exhibition games.

KT will face Goyang Sono in the 2026-2027 KCC Pro Basketball regular season game held at Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena on the 9th at 2 p.m.

After falling to Seoul Samsung in the opening game, KT successfully turned the momentum around with a win over Changwon LG in their most recent match and is now aiming for consecutive victories.

In the previous exhibition games, KT collapsed after allowing Sono 20 three-pointers. Speaking to reporters before the game, Head Coach Moon Kyung-un stated, "We were hit so hard by Sono's outside shooting in the exhibition games that we focused thoroughly on shutting down their three-point attempts." He added, "No matter how strong Sono's firepower is, we have adjusted our defensive tactics from various angles to ensure we do not easily give up the perimeter like last time."

He also previewed changes in defensive matchups. Coach Moon said, "Originally, I planned to assign Ha Yun-ki to guard Jony Obryant to relieve Paris Bass's defensive burden. However, Bass volunteered from practice onward, insisting that he would directly defend Obryant himself." He explained, "It seems the points allowed in the exhibition games bothered him. As a result, Ha Yun-ki shifted to an outside matchup."

The task of containing the opposing ace, Lee Jung-hyun, was assigned to Han Hee-won. Coach Moon said, "Han Hee-won is in good condition, so I started him. Rather than defending after Lee Jung-hyun gets the ball, we are thoroughly executing a deny defense to prevent him from easily receiving it, and instructed the other players to provide help."

Regarding the situation where two foreign players play simultaneously in the second and third quarters, Coach Moon identified Tray Porter's defensive ability and inside attack as key factors. He emphasized, "Porter's strength is his quick outside defensive pursuit ability. If it is not a fast guard, he will be able to fulfill his role sufficiently." He added, "Conversely, on offense, we plan to relentlessly penetrate Sono's interior in the second and third quarters."

He also presented a clear vision for the ideal direction of the offense. Coach Moon stressed, "It would be problematic if explosive power comes only from Paris Bass. We need outside support from players like Moon Jung-hyun and Jeon Seong-hyun to come alive with Bass as the focal point, and our domestic players must break through organically for us to play the game easily."
