Professional football K League 1 side Incheon United will face Jeju SK in the final regular-season match. Depending on the result, only one of the two teams will advance to the Final A Group (upper split), making it a so-called “do-or-die” matchup.
Incheon and Jeju will clash at 2 p.m. on the 24th in the final regular-season match (Round 33) of the Hana Bank K League 1, to be held at Incheon Football Stadium.
Incheon enters the match ranked seventh with 43 points (11 wins, 10 draws, 11 losses), while Jeju is sixth with 46 points (12 wins, 10 draws, 10 losses). As teams up to sixth place can qualify for the Final A Group, one of the two sides will secure the last available spot.
Incheon will advance to the Final A Group if it wins. In the event of a tie in points with Jeju, goal difference will be the deciding factor, and Incheon already leads with 40 goals compared to Jeju’s 38. Conversely, Jeju will make it to the Final A Group with at least a draw.
Incheon, which is challenging for a spot in the Final A Group in its first season after promotion, is already experiencing intense ticket demand. According to the club, as of 1 p.m. on the 23rd, the day before the match, 10,000 tickets have already been reserved. This will mark the ninth time this season that attendance reaches 10,000.
Considering the current reservation trend, the club expects an attendance of approximately 12,000 to 13,000 spectators. This figure is close to the 12,984 fans who attended the match against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in Daejeon last July. The highest attendance for the club this season was 18,108 (a sellout) at the opening match against FC Seoul on February 28.
Incheon supporters will also conduct a bus-arrival cheer to support the team as it heads toward the mission of “Win and You’re in the Final A.” Incheon fans are scheduled to gather at the entrance to the stadium parking lot at 11:50 a.m. on the day of the match to cheer for the players.
In their two meetings this season, Incheon holds the edge with one win and one draw. In the April match held in Incheon, Incheon won 1-0, while the August matchup in Jeju ended in a 3-3 draw.
