Japanese media have shown great interest in the daily life of Shin Yu-bin (22, Korean Air), South Korea's top women's table tennis player.

Japan's "The Digest" reported on the 23rd (Korean time), "South Korea's table tennis prodigy Shin Yu-bin captured fans' attention by revealing a model-like poise that makes her look like a different person."

The outlet focused on a photo Shin Yu-bin posted on Instagram on the 21st. In the photo, Shin Yu-bin shows off long, straight hair instead of the familiar bun she wears during matches. She paired a brown jacket and white T-shirt with short shorts and black long boots that exposed her thighs, creating a mature atmosphere.

The outlet noted, "Shin Yu-bin was also captured resting on a bench or traveling by subway," adding, "A suitcase is visible in the background, suggesting she enjoyed a short trip to Japan with acquaintances."

The outlet also highlighted Shin Yu-bin's popularity and recent performance. It stated, "Shin Yu-bin is a popular sports star with over 350,000 followers," and added, "She faced Hina Hayata (Japan) in the bronze medal match of the women's singles at the 2024 Paris Olympics."

On the 8th, Shin Yu-bin defeated world No. 6 Hayata 3-2 in the third round of the women's singles at the "WTT China Smash" held in Beijing, China. It was a heartfelt first victory against her "nemesis," who had beaten her in all nine previous meetings, including the loss in the Paris Olympics bronze medal match.

Subsequently, in the mixed doubles final on the 9th, Shin Yu-bin teamed up with Lim Jong-hoon to defeat the Lin Yun-ru and Cheng I-ching (Taiwan) pair 3-2 to claim the title. It was a dramatic comeback victory after trailing 3-10 in the fourth game and 1-5 in the fifth game. With this, the Shin Yu-bin-Lim Jong-hoon pair lifted their third WTT series championship trophy of the year.
