With group Super Junior member and actor Choi Si-won embroiled in a political controversy, the agency has taken legal action.

On the 19th, Choi Si-won posted the phrase "I hope of injustice, 土와해崩瓦解" (必亡 of injustice, )義,) on his SNS.

The phrase posted by Choi Si-won means, "If it is not righteous, it must be ruined, and the soil will collapse and the roof tiles will be broken."

The post was posted on the same day that former President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was accused of leading a rebellion, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first trial. This led to a political controversy, with the interpretation that he expressed his personal opinion on the ruling.

Amid the growing controversy, SM Entertainment, its agency, started to protect Choi Siwon. SM Entertainment said on the 20th, "We are seriously aware of the recent repeated writing of malicious posts such as personal attacks and insults against artists," adding, "We have filed a complaint with the investigative agency for confirmed criminal acts."

He added that further complaints will be carried out through continuous monitoring of malicious posts.

This is not the first time that Choi Si-won's SNS move has been rumored. Last year, Charlie Kirk, a close aide to U.S. President Donald Trump and the late American far-right activist, was shot dead, posting, "We mourn the death of one of America's heroes." Charlie Kirk is a controversial figure for gun control, anti-abortion, and hate speech, and Choi Si-won deleted the post as criticism intensified at the time.
