News emerged about Jung Cheong-jo's current situation while serving a sentence in prison for fraud involving impersonating the third-generation heirs of chaebols and defrauding victims of tens of billions of won.

The YouTube channel 'Read' released a letter on April 30 containing testimonies from inmates who had served time alongside Jung Cheong-jo.

According to the released letter, Jung Cheong-jo is known to spend about an hour in his cell without a shirt after taking a warm shower twice a week. Informant A claimed this behavior appeared to be an attempt to show that he had undergone chest reduction surgery and had no breasts.

Additionally, it was reported that Jung Cheong-jo keeps and uses an electric razor in his cell to shave the beard growing due to male hormone injections.

Furthermore, testimonies added that he persistently pursued female inmates and has since been transferred to Sadong, where foreign inmates are housed.

Inmate B added, "Rumors spread that Jung Cheong-jo considers anyone he talks to as a date. I found it frustrating, but he seemed to enjoy people staring at him due to his fame."

Jung Cheong-jo was indicted for pretending to be an illegitimate child of a chaebol family and defrauding 27 victims of approximately 3 billion won. In November 2025, the appellate court sentenced him to 13 years in prison.

Jung Cheong-jo subsequently abandoned his appeal, making the sentence final. He is currently incarcerated at Cheongju Women's Detention Center.
