Actor Hwang Jung-min recommended Jung Ho-yeon for the film 'Hope'.

On the 10th, a video titled "There Were Real Tigers at the 'Hope' Filming Site" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Publishing House Untitled'.

In the released video, scenes featuring Hwang Jung-min and Jung Ho-yeon, stars of the film 'Hope' (directed by Na Hong-jin), meeting Park Jeong-min were shown.

Park Jeong-min asked Hwang Jung-min, "I heard you're looking for a female actress for the role of Seong-ae, and that you recommended Ho-yeon to the director." Jung Ho-yeon also chimed in, asking, "Why did you recommend her?" Hwang Jung-min replied, "The director said appearance is very important. I thought, 'Here he goes again with this talk about looks.'"

He continued, "Still, when a woman holds a gun, it shouldn't feel burdensome, but at the same time, having her appear too much like a warrior wouldn't make sense. I thought it would be great if she were a new kind of character. After watching 'Squid Game,' I thought, 'Ah, right! There's Ho-yeon. She seems really suitable.' Basically, once you dress someone up, their look comes through."

In response, Park Jeong-min retorted with, "Here he goes again with this talk about looks," sparking laughter.

Hwang Jung-min added, "When I asked the director, 'How about her?' he said he'd like to meet her. After meeting, everything worked out well."

Regarding his meeting with director Na Hong-jin, Jung Ho-yeon recalled, "I was extremely nervous when we first met and wanted to make a good impression. But as soon as I looked into the director's eyes, he told me just to be myself. His gaze was so intense that I realized any pretense would be immediately exposed. Since I decided to be myself, he saw my authentic portrayal of the character and gave me the script that very day."
