Singer and musical actress Ivy has had her name inscribed on the wall of "Chicago" on Broadway.

On the 19th, Ivy posted a photo and caption on her personal account reading, "The day I carved my name on the Chicago wall in Broadway. 2026.08.17."

Ivy became the first Korean actor to appear on the stage of the Broadway musical "Chicago" on the 17th. This marks a historic achievement for a Korean actor, accomplished after numerous challenges and efforts. Ivy is scheduled to meet audiences as Roxie Hart at New York's Ambassador Theatre until September 6.

Moved by the opportunity to leave her name "IVY" on the wall of the Broadway theater "Chicago," Ivy expressed deep emotion.

"Chicago" is the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, having swept six categories including the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical and winning the Grammy Award for Best Musical Album.

Before departing for the United States, Ivy shared her feelings about joining Broadway during a press conference: "After digging one well for a long time, an incredible opportunity has come my way. Thanks to the help of many people, I have been given the chance to perform at the birthplace of musicals. As I go representing South Korean musicals, I feel both great responsibility and pressure, as well as excitement. On Broadway, I am also curious about how actors and staff work. I will experience it thoroughly and return."
