Actor Song Seung-heon paid tribute to the victims of the massive floods in Nepal.

On the 30th, Song Seung-heon posted the phrase "PRAY FOR NEPAL" on his personal social media.

Recently, a large-scale flood occurred in the Himalayan mountainous region along the border between Nepal and China. As of the morning of the 31st, at least 788 people have died and 2,502 are missing. Including figures from Chinese authorities, the total death toll from this flood is at least 804, with 3,048 missing.

The Nepalese government has requested support from the international community for special and professional equipment and personnel needed for search and rescue operations, including large transport drones, DNA testing kits, and refrigerated facilities for storing bodies. It also requested specialized support such as forensic equipment, personnel, and refrigeration facilities to prevent decomposition of the victims' bodies and enable identification by families.

Authorities plan to return the bodies to families once identities are confirmed, allowing them to be cremated according to Hindu traditions.

The Nepalese government estimates that approximately $4 billion to $5 billion (about 5.5 trillion to 6.9 trillion won) will be needed for disaster recovery costs from this flood. The maximum estimate of $5 billion is a significant amount, nearly 10% of Nepal's entire economy.

The United States and Canada each pledged about $3.6 million (about 5.5 trillion won), the European Union (EU) pledged $2.5 million (about 3.45 billion won), the United Kingdom pledged £5 million (about 9.38 billion won), and Malaysia pledged $1 million (about 1.38 billion won).

The United Nations has already disbursed $2.5 million in emergency funds, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has allocated over $1 million (about 1.38 billion won) for Nepal support. A $31 million emergency fundraising campaign has also been launched.
