Park Jae-hong, a CBS anchorman, personally shared updates on his condition as he receives treatment for a stroke.

On the 1st, Park Jae-hong posted via his personal account: "I collapsed while exercising alone on the track at the Gyeongdae Sports Complex around 10 p.m. last August 22nd," and shared photos taken at the hospital.

The released photo shows Park Jae-hong from behind, seated in a wheelchair wearing patient clothing.

Park Jae-hong explained the situation at the time of his collapse: "I was transported to the emergency room one hour later after my family called 119, and I was immediately diagnosed with a stroke following an MRI scan. At that time, the medical team's assessment was more serious than expected."

He continued: "For the next three to four hours, I underwent checks on blood pressure, electrocardiogram, and body temperature while being asked questions by medical staff to confirm my name, date, and location. Watching most other patients in the ward unable to recall their own names and professions when asked 'What is your name?' weighed heavily on me, and I silently wept and prayed for their recovery."

Park Jae-hong also provided updates on his current health status. He stated: "Thanks to the dedicated treatment by Samsung Seoul Hospital medical staff, I am truly grateful that my language ability, memory, and left-right sensory functions have fully recovered to 100%. Currently, I am in a rehabilitation phase focused on restoring motor function."

He also announced plans for his return to broadcasting. Park Jae-hong said: "I deeply thank Park Won-seok Jeon (Rep.), who has excellently filled my absence, and the production team of 'Hanpanseungbu' along with the substitute hosts who worked hard during my rehabilitation period."

He further explained: "As I have hosted 'Hanpanseungbu' for five years without ever missing a week or more, I am providing this detailed update to prevent unnecessary speculation about this unusual 20-day absence."

Regarding his return timeline, he said: "My goal is to return around the time of Chuseok, but please note that the exact timing may be adjusted based on medical recommendations regarding my recovery progress and CBS production team's judgment."

Finally, Park Jae-hong added: "This experience made me acutely realize how powerless life can become when even a single blood vessel or capillary becomes blocked. I hope and expect to see you again soon on live broadcast. Thank you."

Meanwhile, Park Jae-hong entered the broadcasting industry as a CBS public recruitment anchorman and has primarily worked as a host in current affairs programs. Since 2021, he has hosted the CBS radio current affairs program 'Park Jae-hong's Hanpanseungbu'.
