YouTuber Park Wi continues to lose subscribers. Following recent controversies that caused his subscriber count to fall below the 1st million mark, the number has continued to decline steadily.

As of 11 a.m. on the 7th, the subscriber count for Park Wi's YouTube channel 'Wiwakel' stood at approximately 950,000.

After dropping to around 960,000 at the end of last month, it decreased again within just one week. Compared to the period before the controversy when the count exceeded 1 million, this represents a loss of more than 50,000 subscribers.

The decline in Park Wi's subscriber count began following controversies that erupted last month.

On the 14th of last month, Park Wi suffered an accident while disembarking from a KTX train using a wheelchair, tripping over the foot of a social service personnel member. Subsequently, on the 21st, he released footage containing CCTV recordings of the incident on his YouTube channel.

In the video, Park Wi disclosed the scene of the accident, explaining it was to prevent recurrence. However, criticism arose that releasing the footage publicly was excessive, especially since the social service personnel member had already admitted fault and apologized at the scene. Concerns were also raised about the possibility of identifying the individual's identity.

As the controversy intensified, Park Wi deleted the problematic video and issued an apology. He later voluntarily resigned from his position as a Seoul city promotional ambassador.

Although Park Wi took measures including a formal apology, deletion of the video, and resignation from his ambassador role, the exodus of subscribers has not stopped. The subscriber count for 'Wiwakel', which once surpassed 1 million, has dropped to 950,000, indicating that the long-term fallout from the controversy continues.

Meanwhile, Park Wi was diagnosed with quadriplegia following a fall accident in 2014 but regained upper body mobility through rehabilitation. He married Song Ji-eun, formerly of the group SECRET, in October 2024.
