Ko Young-wook, formerly of the mixed-gender group Rula, directly refuted writer So Jae-won who criticized him.

On the 9th, Ko Young-wook posted on his X (formerly Twitter), saying, "When I woke up this morning and saw a related article in which writer So Jae-won spread baseless slander about me, I was utterly shocked and momentarily stunned." He added, "She wrote without verifying facts, targeting someone with no connection to her. This is an issue that warrants legal review."

Ko Young-wook stated, "Why are you attaching your novel 'So-won' to me? Do you really know me?" He continued, "I served three years of probation, wore an electronic monitoring device, and strictly complied with the curfew from midnight to 6 a.m. without any violation. For ten years, I visited the police station every year for photo documentation."

Regarding So Jae-won's criticism that he should be living in hiding, Ko Young-wook retorted directly: "My mother is currently in such poor health that she can barely walk for more than ten minutes, so I have to go grocery shopping. If I were to live in hiding as you wish, would you do my grocery shopping instead?"

Ko Young-wook explained, "I am simply posting my thoughts. Although it may seem like I'm writing without thinking, these are the inner feelings I could never express to people who were once connected with me."

Previously, on the 7th, writer So Jae-won directly attacked Ko Young-wook, saying, "How long must we tolerate the words of Ko Young-wook, who committed sexual crimes against minors?" She added, "What makes him so confident and aggrieved? He is living as a notorious attention-seeker despite being someone who should be in hiding."
