Actor Kim Sung-oh proved his fierce acting skills.

Netflix's original series "The Rat" is a tracking thriller that follows the story of novelist "Moon Jae," whose name, face, and life were completely stolen by the mysterious figure known as "The Rat"; loan shark "No Ja," who seeks to recover lost money; and detective "Soon-yong," as they chase the identity of The Rat.

After ranking fifth among global top 10 non-English shows just three days after its release, it recorded 4.4 million viewers in its second week, topping the global top 10 non-English shows list and reaching the top 10 in a total of 45 countries.

In the drama, Kim Sung-oh played Seung-gyu, an identity laundering operator, creating tense moments within the narrative and establishing his unique presence known worldwide. Above all, amidst unpredictable developments, he vividly portrayed the cold demeanor of Seung-gyu (played by Kim Sung-kyu), who stands in direct opposition to No Ja (played by Sol Kyung-gu), delivering a sense of fear.

He also skillfully adjusted the pacing of characters within the tangled web of relationships, creating compelling scenes. In particular, he convincingly expressed Seung-gyu's emotional journey, from his complex inner turmoil mixing admiration and revenge toward No Ja to the moment he encounters The Rat and is swept up in a strange sense of familiarity.

Moreover, he dominated the atmosphere with his expressionless face and sharp gaze, heightening immersion. His fearless action performances sent shivers down viewers' spines, leaving them gripping their hands throughout.

As such, Kim Sung-oh has proven his solid acting prowess by fully embodying every role he takes on in each work. With Kim Sung-oh demonstrating a clear spectrum across all genres, many are eagerly anticipating what he will present next.
