Singer Hong Seung-min will unveil a new song filled with the emotions of parting.

Hong Seung-min, who finished in fifth place on SBS's "Our Ballad" last year, will release his new digital single "Afterimage" on the 13th.

According to his agency SM C&C, the new song "Afterimage" is a lyrical ballad depicting the lingering attachment and longing that surge unexpectedly, like the cold air of dawn, while one continues daily life as if nothing has happened after a breakup. The lyrics compare the face and voice of past love, which become clearer the more one tries to forget, to an "afterimage," blending with Hong Seung-min's delicate vocals to deeply capture the aftershocks of parting.

SM C&C stated, "Hong Seung-min is expected to showcase his delicacy in gradually building up emotions and his deep emotional voice through the new song 'Afterimage.' Please look forward to Hong Seung-min's activities as he releases 'Afterimage' and establishes himself as a next-generation emotional vocalist."

Hong Seung-min, who appeared on SBS's "Our Ballad" last year, caught viewers' attention with his solid fundamentals honed through classical music, powerful vocals, and wide-ranging expressiveness that shifts to a sweet timbre. He became a topic of conversation for reinterpreting timeless songs spanning generations, such as Park Jeong-hyun's "Mia" and Sung Si-kyung's "Forever," with his own unique sensibility.

Hong Seung-min also released the OST "0 (Zero)" for Channel A's weekend drama "A Baby Is Coming," and has performed on various stages, including the "Our Ballad" nationwide tour concert, TOP6 Gangnam Square busking, and the park concert at the "2026 Busan One Asia Festival (BOF with NOL)."
