To commemorate "Dokdo Day," singer Kim Jang-hoon and Seong Sin-yeo-dae (Prof.) Seo Kyung-deok joined forces.

This four-minute video was co-produced with the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation's Content Promotion Division, and has been released in both Korean and English to be widely shared with netizens at home and abroad.

The main content of the video begins with the story of An Yong-bok from the Joseon Dynasty, and provides a detailed look at the activities of the Dokdo Volunteer Defense Force in the 1950s and the lives of residents who lived on Dokdo.

It also introduces the stories of people guarding Dokdo in their respective positions today, including the Dokdo Management Office, 119 rescue and emergency medical personnel, the Dokdo Guard Unit, the Dokdo Lighthouse, and the Coast Guard.

Seo Gyeong-deok (Prof.), who planned the video, said, "Through this video, I wanted to remember the people who have guarded Dokdo and create content that can pass on its meaning to the next generation."

He added, "In particular, a notable feature is that we inserted characters from 'Kangchi Island,' which was released on Netflix this year, throughout the video so that children could easily understand it."

Kim Jang-hoon, who took on the Korean narration, stated, "I am happy to convey the stories of the people who have guarded Dokdo through my voice," and added, "I hope many netizens at home and abroad will watch it."

This video is being distributed not only on YouTube but also across various SNS platforms, and is being shared in major overseas Korean and international student communities around the world to raise widespread awareness.
