Singer Kim Jang-hoon's landing on the Georgjeolbyeoldo (Liancourt Rocks) for "Dokdo of the West Sea" has been canceled.

According to his agency FX Solution on the 26th, Kim was scheduled to hold the first popular music performance in the history of the Georgjeolbyeoldo near the lighthouse on North Georgjeolbyeoldo in Taean County, Chungcheongnam-do Province, that morning. However, due to local weather and marine conditions, landing became difficult, leading to the postponement of the concert.

The concert was planned to commemorate Dokdo Day on October 25 and to raise awareness of the importance of South Korea's western maritime territory. Kim had planned to land directly on North Georgjeolbyeoldo with his band, Korean People, to perform live.

The Georgjeolbyeoldo is located in the open sea far from the mainland, making access difficult depending on weather and marine conditions. Considering safety on site, Kim decided to postpone this concert and plans to attempt landing again in November.

The Georgjeolbyeoldo consists of three islands: North Georgjeolbyeoldo, East Georgjeolbyeoldo, and West Georgjeolbyeoldo, all located in Geunheung-myeon, Taean County, Chungcheongnam-do Province. Among them, West Georgjeolbyeoldo serves as a territorial sea baseline point for South Korea's western territorial waters and is also known by the nickname "Dokdo of the West Sea" due to its strategic and geographical importance. The importance of maritime territory management was also highlighted when past attempts by foreign capital to purchase the islands became public knowledge.

Meanwhile, specific dates for the rescheduled Georgjeolbyeoldo concert in November will be announced later.
