Singers Lim Ji-seong and Jung Ji-woong are set to release a duet.

Lim Ji-seong and Jung Ji-woong, who appeared on Season 1 of SBS’s ‘Our Ballad,’ will release their new single ‘Lie’ at 6 p.m. on the 27th.

According to their agency SM C&C, the new track ‘Lie’ is an R&B pop song that tells the story of a man who senses his relationship is ending through the cold gaze of his partner. Based on the message that not all love carries the same weight, the song captures the emptiness and sense of loss felt by the narrator as the relationship heads toward its end. The agency noted that Lim Ji-seong’s deep, husky voice blends with Jung Ji-woong’s beautiful falsetto to complete a shared loneliness with distinct textures.

Lim Ji-seong and Jung Ji-woong are accomplished vocalists who placed 7th and 11th, respectively, on Season 1 of SBS’s ‘Our Ballad,’ which aired last year. The two were well received for reinterpreting ‘Why Are You Like That’ and ‘Annie’ with their own unique sensibilities. Throughout the competition, they demonstrated clear vocal identities and strong stage presence.

The duo also gained attention for their performance of J-TVL’s ‘Couple’ on the spin-off program of SBS’s ‘Our Ballad,’ ‘Mumu X Chacha – U-Balladio.’ At the ‘Our Ballad’ nationwide tour concert, they showcased their presence to fans with solo performances of ‘Why Are You Like That’ and ‘Annie,’ as well as a joint performance of ‘As Much Love as Has Been Scattered in This World.’

SM C&C stated, “Lim Ji-seong and Jung Ji-woong, who have consistently harmonized through broadcasts and concerts, are expected to deliver an even deeper harmony and new musical synergy in ‘Lie.’”
