Singer Chun Bum-seok has made a strong start as a singer-songwriter.

According to his agency, SM C&C, Chun Bum-seok, who placed third in Season 1 of SBS's "Our Ballad" last year, will release his new digital single "A Certain Painting" at 6 p.m. on the 8th.

The new track "A Certain Painting" is a pop ballad that captures the process of two unfamiliar people getting to know each other and completing a single picture with their own unique colors. It portrays, in one song, the moment when a shy confession turns into the courage to take the first step, unfolding the romantic journey two different people will build together like a single canvas. A lyrical piano melody and warmly spreading string sounds create a cozy atmosphere, while Chun Bum-seok's plain and sincere vocals stand out.

SM C&C stated, "This song holds special significance as it is the first track in which Chun Bum-seok directly participated in the composition. He co-wrote and co-composed the song with Lee Ju-hyung, the lead producer of MonoTree, enhancing its completeness, while Kwon Young-chan's string arrangement added richness to the delicate melody."

Chun Bum-seok was highly praised on SBS's audition show "Our Ballad," which aired last year, for his performances of songs such as "In Place" and "Bus Stop," where he played the piano while singing, likening him to a "pottery artist."

After the program ended, he appeared at a nationwide tour concert, TOP6 Gangnam Square busking, the "2026 Busan One Asia Festival (BOF with NOL)" park concert, and KBS's "Morning Concert," among others.

Meanwhile, Chun Bum-seok will premiere his new single "A Certain Painting" at the "Our Ballad" TOP6 fan concert "TIMELESS," to be held on Saturday the 7th at the main auditorium of Sungsin Women's University's Unjeong Green Campus.
