IU will be in the new drama series Pretty Boy

Singer IU is taking on the role of a main character in a new drama series titled Pretty Boy. She will play the role of Kim Bo Tong. Befitting her name, which means ‘ordinary’ or ‘average’ in Korean, the character is an ordinary girl but has a lovable charm. She also has a crush on a pretty boy named Matthew Dokgo (Jang Geun Suk), whom she fell in love with at first sight when she was in middle school. Her bizarre sense of fashion makes Matthew grimace, but she fights a desperate, lonely battle against all the women who surround him so she can keep him for herself.

The production company, Group Eight, says, ��We believe that IU will do a great job in the role of Kim Bo Tong, who will make Matthew Dokgo realize what real love is in this drama. This oddly matched couple will show a unique romance such as the audience has never seen in any drama series before.��

Pretty Boy is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Chon Kye Young. It��s about a man with a pretty face who manages to capture the hearts of females easily, and through them, he gains not only riches and power but also later learns what’s truly important in life and winds up as part of an odd couple with Kim Bo Tong.

The drama is set to premiere on November 20, in the time slot of Secrets.
