2PM reaches number one on Japan��s Oricon Weekly Chart

2PM��s new Japanese single grabbed the top spot on the Oricon and Tower Records weekly charts in Japan. 2PM released their seventh Japanese single, “Winter Games,” on the 16th, and since then it has been topping Oricon’s real-time and daily charts, and on the 23rd, it ranked at the top on the Oricon Weekly Chart. It has been nine months K-pop stars ranked on the top on Oricon chart.

Before 2PM’s single was released, Tower Records in Shibuya prepared an exclusive special checkout for “Winter Games” in anticipation of the congestion due to the local fans’ hot interest in the group. The song garnered immense popularity as soon as it was released so that it made the number-one spot on Tower Records’ chart of daily sales of singles regardless of genre and became number one on the company’s weekly chart as well. The song even ranked number one on the Japanese ringtone chart, Recochoku.
