'Billboard Award' BTS "This award is our fan's from all over the world"

BTS thanked to their worldwide fans while they have been nominated for the Billboard Music Awards as the first k-pop group.

BTS have won Top Social Artist in The 2017 Billboard Music Awards which was held in T-mobile Arena, Las Vegas, on May 21st (UTC). This day, BTS, who attended the award ceremony for the first time as a k-pop group nominee, stepped onto the stage with surprised look when an actor Logan Paul and a violinist Lindsey Stirling called BTS as an award winner.

BTS gave their thought in English. BTS said, "If we win the Top Social Artist Award, it is because of the dedication from our A.R.M.Y.s [their fans] around the world and our honor and gratitude goes directly to them." 

BTS also gave their thought in Korean. BTS said, "We love you and thank you so much, our fans. We will continue to become better BTS" and make their worldwide fans, who watched the award ceremony live, heartwarming. "Top Social Artist" award that BTS have won is awarded by counting the number of digital music sales, streaming, number of radio broadcasting, performance and social attendance of last past year and by counting the number of votes from global fan poll that has started on may 1st. 

The rival nominees of BTS were Justin Bieber, Selena Gomes, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes. Justin Bieber had won this particular award for 6 consecutive years since the creation of this award in 2011. BTS is the first nominee who was called on the ceremony stage. BTS showed their popularity and influence over worldwide social network by becoming the third celebrity who has been taking the most first place in Billboard 'Social 50' chart after Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. 

In addition, they made the best record starting with 'Hwayangyeonwha pt.2', which was released in November, 2011, and they have became the first korean singers who enter the 'Billboard 200' with their 4 consecutive albums. They also set the remarkable record of being 26th place in 'Billboard 200' with their second album 'WINGS' in October 2015. 

On the other hand, BTS attended Magenta Carpet Event before the ceremony and received attention as the global renowned k pop artist from local press.
