BTS Achieves Historic Record with ‘PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE -LIVE’ on Billboard 200, Reaching No. 10 – Most Top 10 Entries by a Korean Artist

BTS has set a new record for Korean artists on the Billboard 200 chart.

According to an announcement made by Billboard on their official website on July 28, BTS’s live album "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE," released on July 18, debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart (for the week of August 2). The album, which is a live concert recording without any new songs, secured a spot in the top tier of the Billboard main album chart, solidifying BTS’s status as a "21st-century pop icon."

This achievement brings the total number of albums by BTS to have appeared on the Billboard 200 chart to 16. Among these, they have reached No. 1 six times with albums such as Proof (the anthology album) and MAP OF THE SOUL: 7. Notably, BTS has now placed eight albums in the Billboard 200 Top 10, setting a new record for the most Top 10 entries by a Korean artist.

Furthermore, BTS made history by becoming the third artist to enter the Billboard 200 Top 10 with a live concert album, following Taylor Swift and Metallica. "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE" recorded 36,000 units sold in physical albums, 5,000 units in streaming-equivalent album sales (SEA), and 2,000 units in track-equivalent album sales (TEA) this week.

This album marks BTS’s first-ever live concert album, capturing the vivid atmosphere of their "BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE" tour, which took place both online and offline in 12 shows across Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas in 2021 and 2022. The album includes 22 tracks, such as "Dynamite," "Butter," "Permission to Dance," "Blood Sweat & Tears," and "Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)."

In other news, BTS has officially announced their comeback in the spring of 2026. During a live broadcast on the global fan platform Weverse on July 1, they shared that all seven members will begin traveling to the U.S. from July for music production and concert preparations. They are expected to release a new album in 2026 and embark on a large-scale world tour as a full group.
