Aeni Blocks 'Shinsegae Privilege Controversy' in Advance:

Aeni, a member of the group All Day Project, opened up about her debut process.

On August 5, the YouTube channel 'TEO 테오' uploaded a new episode of the web variety show Salon Drip 2, featuring All Day Project members Aeni and Tarzan.

During the show, host Jang Do-yeon asked Aeni, “Some people might assume that you were scouted first because you stand out. Did the agency reach out to you directly?”

Aeni firmly replied, “No,” and explained, “I auditioned for THEBLACKLABEL and became a trainee that way.”
She added, “I was studying abroad at the time, so I took lessons and practiced remotely. Every week, I would record evaluation videos and send them to the company for feedback. I trained like that for about four years.”
She also shared, “Whenever I came to Korea during school breaks, I went to the company every day,” which prompted Jang Do-yeon to comment, “You have a determined spirit—in a good way,” expressing her surprise.

Jang then asked how their families reacted to their debut.

Aeni said, “My younger sibling told me, ‘Your face is everywhere these days.’”
Tarzan added humorously, “My dad asked me, ‘Can I quit my job now?’” making everyone laugh.

When asked if they visited each other's homes during their trainee days, Aeni answered, “A lot.”
She explained, “When we were hungry late at night after practice, we felt awkward about ordering delivery at the company, so we often ate at my house. My family really likes all the members—especially Tarzan.”

She continued, “I’m not the affectionate or cutesy type, but my parents really want me to be like that. Since I can’t, they adore Tarzan instead.”

Feeling proud, Tarzan cheerfully added, “I even sing songs like Jaja’s ‘In the Bus’ in front of her family,” bringing laughter to the set.

Meanwhile, Aeni is the granddaughter of Lee Myung-hee, Chairwoman of Shinsegae Group, and the daughter of Chung Yoo-kyung, President of Shinsegae. She made her music industry debut this past June as a member of All Day Project.
