AKMU Kicks Off 3-Week Standing Concert Series “Akdong” with a Successful First Week: “We’ve Become Even Cooler Akdongs”
AKMU has successfully wrapped up the first week of their standing concert series, marking the beginning of a special three-week musical journey.
From August 8–10, the duo held the first three shows of the “2025 AKMU STANDING CONCERT [Akdong]” at Myunghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. True to their reputation for breaking stereotypes, AKMU participated in the entire production process, infusing the concerts with their signature fresh and inventive ideas.
Before the show began, the venue was packed with excited fans, and the upbeat sounds of the live band set the tone. As the powerful beats shook the venue, the audience naturally moved to the rhythm, cheering loudly. Lee Chan-hyuk took the stage first, dancing and leading the crowd in applause to warm up the atmosphere.
He opened with the title track of their second full album, “Vivid Rarar Love”, and when Lee Su-hyun joined him, the venue grew even more electric. AKMU delivered a parade of hit songs rearranged with rich live instrumentation, followed by solo tracks and unreleased songs that showcased their individuality. Breaking down the barrier between artist and audience through the standing concert format, AKMU shared explosive energy with the crowd. They expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thanks to everyone singing and having fun with us, we were energized and able to become even cooler Akdongs. Thank you for being here with us. We hope this time was as happy for you as it was for us.”
The concerts will continue for a total of nine shows, with the next performances scheduled for August 15–17 and 22–24. Each week will feature new outfit concepts, changes to parts of the setlist, and special events for multi-show attendees, ensuring that fan excitement and anticipation remain high throughout the run.
