Pop duo Marrakesh has returned with their second EP.
Marrakesh (Kim Young-wook, Cho Sung-ha) released their second EP Colors at noon on the 16th through various music platforms. Colors marks the group’s first new album in about five years since the release of their debut EP Shape in July 2020. While Shape outlined Marrakesh’s musical form, Colors reveals the hues contained within. Imagining the colors that arise with each track is another way to enjoy this new EP.
Ahead of the official release, Marrakesh surprised fans by launching their official website on the 5th. The site included the album title, cover art, release date, and track previews, heightening anticipation for their comeback.
Colors consists of five tracks, including the double title tracks You and Out of Time, along with Whiteout, Jane Birkin, and Cage. The EP begins with Whiteout, signaling a new chapter; continues with Jane Birkin, named after the alluring and iconic actress; and unfolds into the first title track You, which captures the intensity and excitement of attraction. The second title track Out of Time likens the feelings of love to a game, while Cage highlights surging emotions conveyed through powerful instrumentation.
With its diverse palette, Colors shines as Marrakesh’s vibrant return—five years after they first drew the outlines of their music with Shape. Imagining the shades evoked by each track offers listeners another dimension of enjoyment.
