Sibling duo AKMU (Akdong Musician) will be leaving YG Entertainment.
On the afternoon of the 21st, YG officially announced the expiration of their exclusive contract with AKMU (Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun). YG stated, “AKMU’s only concern was whether to continue working with YG, their companion of the past 12 years, or to pursue a new challenge by going independent. At this crossroads, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk was the first to suggest that stepping out of YG and experiencing music activities in a new environment could be a valuable opportunity.
