BTS’s Jin once again proved his status as a world-class superstar who has captivated fans across the globe by winning an award at the 2025 FUNdex Awards.
At the 2025 FUNdex Awards, held on the 18th, Jin was honored as the first-ever recipient of the Global Netizen Popular Star Award in the K-SHOW (Male) category. Now in its third year, the 2025 FUNdex Awards is Korea’s first data-driven awards ceremony, objectively evaluating the buzz and competitiveness of content based on K-content competitiveness data accumulated by Good Data Corporation.
The awards hold significant meaning as they comprehensively analyze a wide range of K-content—including TV and OTT dramas, variety shows, and reality programs—reflecting the competitiveness that viewers and fandoms directly experience.
The Global Netizen Popular Star Award, newly introduced this year, consists of four categories: K-Drama (Male/Female) and K-SHOW (Male/Female). Nominees were selected based on Good Data’s buzz and competitiveness metrics, and the final winners were determined by combining fan voting results from the Idol Champ and Celeb Champ apps, each accounting for 50 percent of the total score.
This voting system represents a new model of fandom-driven recognition that goes beyond simple popularity, integrating data analysis with active global fan participation. It serves as a key indicator of an artist’s fandom cohesion, as well as their expanding global influence and competitiveness.
Jin’s win clearly demonstrates the overwhelming support and enthusiasm of his global fanbase, while simultaneously highlighting his powerful presence and influence as a superstar across both entertainment and music fields.
