Excitement Builds Over “TYPE 非” Photobook Teaser
Global fans are buzzing following the teaser for BTS V’s upcoming photobook “TYPE 非,” sparking a wave of interest in the meaning of the Chinese character “非.”
To mark his 30th birthday, BTS member V surprised fans by announcing a new photobook project that quickly captured worldwide attention. On the 30th, BigHit Music officially revealed the release of V’s new photobook “TYPE 非” through Weverse. Earlier, on the 28th, BTS’s official social media channels released a 17-second teaser video and black-and-white photos of V surrounded by vintage TV monitors, further heightening fans’ curiosity.
“TYPE 非” is a 278-page hardcover photobook consisting of 20 chapters. V personally participated in the entire process, from planning to filming. Each chapter flows into the next while presenting diverse concepts and unconventional visual approaches. The agency explained, “The book densely captures the deep perspective and sensibility of artist V, Kim Taehyung, who cannot be defined within a single category,” adding, “It offers an in-depth look at the ‘non-fixed’ nature of artist V, who does not remain confined to any one form.”
In particular, the Chinese character “非 (bi)” in the title has become a hot topic among global fans. The character is pronounced “bi” in Korean, the same pronunciation as V’s stage name “V.” As V is known to have learned Chinese characters from his grandfather during childhood, many fans believe the use of this character carries personal significance.
