Global girl group KATSEYE has ranked No. 7 on the list of best-selling physical albums in the United States last year with their second EP, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS. They are the only girl group to make it into the Top 10 in this category.
According to Luminate’s 2025 Year-End Music Report, released on the 14th (local time), the album sold 186,000 copies in the U.S. during the tracking period from January 3, 2025 to January 1, 2026, earning a spot on the U.S. Top 10 CD Albums chart.
The No. 1 position went to global superstar Taylor Swift’s 12th full-length album, The Life of a Showgirl. Aside from Swift, the list was largely dominated by K-pop boy groups such as ENHYPEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, making KATSEYE’s achievement as a second-year girl group with BEAUTIFUL CHAOS all the more notable and a clear testament to their strong presence.
Released in June last year, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS reached a peak position of No. 4 on Billboard’s main albums chart, the Billboard 200, and has remained on the chart for 28 consecutive weeks, demonstrating impressive longevity.
The album’s hit track “Gabriela” climbed to No. 21 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 (dated January 17), marking the group’s highest ranking on the chart to date. Another track from the EP, “Gnarly,” has also shown strong staying power, charting on the Hot 100 for a cumulative 13 weeks.
KATSEYE was formed through the audition project The Debut: Dream Academy, which was based on “K-pop methodology,” and made their U.S. debut in June 2024.
The group is widely regarded as a representative success story of HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy. KATSEYE has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the upcoming 68th Grammy Awards, and has also received nominations in four categories at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards scheduled for March.
