Actor Im Cheol-hyeong stirred viewers' anger by embodying the true face of a corrupt power holder in 'Minister Kim'.

Im Cheol-hyeong is currently delivering a compelling performance as Im Do-hyun, An Bo (Vice Minister), who colludes with Ju Kang-chan (played by Joo Sang-wook) to privately exploit power in SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Minister Kim'.

In the sixth episode, after learning that Kim Min-ji (played by Seo Su-min), the daughter of Minister Kim (played by So Ji-sub), was at Ju Kang-chan's villa, he directly called Tang-gang-a-ji (played by Won Hyun-jun), a special mission unit officer who had entered the scene, and pressured him with power, saying, "What are you doing there? Withdraw immediately. Immediately." This realistically depicted the arrogance of a corrupt power holder who prioritizes power over law and justice, heightening the drama's tension.

He then went directly to the special mission unit, threatening Tang-gang-a-ji by saying, "What are you doing trespassing on private property? Do you want your head cut off right now?" and demanded that Min-ji be handed over by asking, "Where is that girl right now?" These scenes starkly revealed the true face of a corrupt power holder.

Tang-gang-a-ji did not back down against such An Bo (Vice Minister), warning, "If you hand over Minister Kim's daughter, both Ju Kang-chan and you will be finished." The intense standoff between the two pushed the drama's tension to its peak. Im Do-hyun's act of using his authority as a weapon to pressure even the special mission unit sparked anger among viewers.

Especially toward the end of the series, a twist unfolded where he was held hostage by Minister Kim, with a thin rope wrapped around his neck, facing a threat to his life. As An Bo (Vice Minister), who had wielded power, suddenly found himself in a situation hanging between life and death, Im Cheol-hyeong delicately portrayed an emotional arc completely different from his previous authoritative demeanor.

He meticulously captured every detail—the wavering gaze, the hardened expression, and even the subtle breathing as he tried to maintain composure—completing the extreme tension. He persuasively expressed the process of crumbling from the arrogance of a power holder into the human instinct for survival. This high-density acting adorned the drama's climax and heightened expectations for the next episode.
