Actor Jin Seon-gyu delivered a masterful performance as Sato in 'The 100-Day Lie,' revealing the character's viciousness through his horrific past.

In Episode 2 of tvN's 20th Anniversary Special Project weekend drama 'The 100-Day Lie' (directed by Yoo In-sik and Kim Yun-jin, written by Ryu Bo-ri), which aired on the 11th, Sato, a Chief Inspector in the Jo Seon (총독) Department, was shown to possess a cold-blooded nature and a past that left an indelible scar on Yu So-ran (played by Kim Hyeon-joo).

In the first episode, Jin Seon-gyu had concealed threats beneath friendly jokes and laughter. In this episode, he perfectly portrayed a chilling villain, expressing wariness so deep that even his adopted son could not trust him, the baseness of exploiting others' desperation, and the cruelty of remaining unshaken even when ordered to take lives.

Amid the chaos following gunshots, Sato aimed his gun at Hideo (played by Park Jin-young), who rushed over to check on his safety. Even after making eye contact, Sato did not immediately lower his weapon and did not let his guard down even upon recognizing his son.

Even after surviving the assassination attempt, Sato prioritized his own objectives over the truth of the incident. When Yu Philip (played by Lee Mu-saeng) mentioned reporting the matter as a warning, he suppressed his anger. Subsequently, he revealed his meticulousness for his own safety by instructing Hideo to keep a close watch on Yu Philip.

Jin Seon-gyu announced the birth of a 'Jin Seon-gyu Style Villain,' alternating between restrained and explosive acting while maximizing the drama's horror through composure, heightening anticipation for the story to unfold in the future.

tvN's 20th Anniversary Special Project 'The 100-Day Lie' airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m.
