'Story Island,' the comprehensive content production company that demonstrated the potential of mid-form serialized dramas with 'Shinbyeong,' is now seeking to expand its content portfolio.

'Story Island' announced on the 27th that it will officially launch next-generation content businesses that transcend the boundaries of formats and platforms, ranging from mid-form dramas to YouTube, AI short-form dramas, and FMV (Full Motion Video) games.

'Story Island' is a production company that successfully produced 'Shinbyeong,' a rare mid-form serialized drama in the domestic content market.

'Shinbyeong,' which recently began its fourth season, is being praised for creating a success story for serialized dramas through differentiated strategies amid rapidly changing content environments.

'Story Island' is rapidly expanding its content production areas to include YouTube, short-form content, AI, and games based on the success of 'Shinbyeong.' Rather than simply supplying existing content to new platforms, it aims to transform the very approach to planning and production.

'Story Island' previously unveiled 'The Boss Is Crazy,' featuring broadcasters Choi Sung-hoon and Lee Eun-ji, through its own YouTube channel on the 19th. This commerce variety show was planned with consideration for how digital platform users consume content and react, focusing on direct communication with users through its own channel.

'Story Island' will also showcase short-form dramas utilizing AI technology. 'Ice Blood,' first unveiled on the 26th, is an AI short-form drama produced directly by 'Story Island.' This project attempts to introduce a new production method by combining its own IP with AI technology in the short-form market, characterized by rapid consumption and high production efficiency.

'Story Island' also plans to combine video and game genres. In collaboration with Story Taco, it is producing the FMV game 'Ancient Witches Live in My Basement.' Filming is scheduled to begin this October, with a goal of launching service in the first half of next year. The game will be produced using the FMV method, which utilizes actual actors' performances and filmed footage within the game. Its distinctive feature lies in combining the narrative immersion of movies and dramas with the interactivity of games.

'Story Island' plans to expand its capabilities accumulated during video content production—casting, filming, directing, and storytelling—to the new platform of games, thereby broadening the scope of utilization for its content IP.

'A representative from Story Island stated, "The content market is rapidly changing into an environment where it is difficult to succeed by choosing just one platform or format alone." He added, "Our goal is not merely to introduce and apply new technologies, but to deliver stories in unprecedented ways and create new markets."
