Actor Park Kang-seop has confirmed his appearance in the grand historical drama 'Munmu'.

KBS 2TV's new grand historical drama 'Munmu' (directed by Kim Young-jo and Song Geun-jun; scripted by Kim Ri-heon and Hong Jin-i; produced by Keyeast and Monster Union) is a work that tells the desperate and lonely epic of leaders who staked everything on a single victory amidst wars lasting 600 years and turmoil within the Three Kingdoms.

In the drama, Park Kang-seop will portray Li Chi (Tang Gaojong), the third emperor who succeeded Tang Taizong, delivering a powerful performance. Li Chi completes the conquest of Goguryeo that his predecessor failed to achieve but is frustrated in his attempt to seize Silla with even greater ambition.

Park Kang-seop is set to bring immersive depth to the Tang narrative, which serves as one pillar of the drama, by realistically portraying Li Chi's complex emotions—his frail body hidden behind the dignity of a conqueror, his unstable inner self, and the subtle tension of power.

Previously, Park Kang-seop gained attention with the play 'Youth Judo' and subsequently demonstrated his versatile ability to handle diverse characters across genres by appearing in various works including 'Strangers Are Hell', 'The Royal Doctor', 'Newtopia', 'Lovers', 'Please Don't Drink Too Much', 'The Story of Manager Kim from a Large Company Working at Seoul Station', as well as the films 'Broker' and 'Adults Don't Know'.

Park Kang-seop, who has built a solid filmography, now brings a new face to the grand historical drama stage. Expectations are high for his portrayal of Emperor Li Chi, having consistently brought out the nuances of each character he has played.

'Munmu' is scheduled to premiere in November.
