Actress Lee Jung-rang shared the stage with a close friend who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

The episode of TV Chosun's variety program "Chosun's Love Expert," broadcast on the 6th, was produced as a three-part special for the show's fifth anniversary titled "Chosun's Love Expert Singing Contest."

On that day, Lee Jung-rang appeared on stage with her high school friend, Shim Woo-ri.

Shim Woo-ri greeted the audience by saying, "I am Shim Woo-ri, who was able to live again thanks to Lee Jung-rang," and added, "(Lee) Jung-rang is a friend who saved my life."

Upon hearing this, Lee Jung-rang shared her friend's story. She explained, "My friend has dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood. She even studied practical music, but due to marriage and various other reasons, that dream was postponed. Just as she was about to start various activities through a working adult band after things had settled down for her, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer."

Shim Woo-ri revealed, "It was extremely difficult during the two years I spent fighting the illness. I received my diagnosis in August 2023 and underwent three open surgeries over those two years, as well as 12 rounds of chemotherapy."

She continued, "Jung-rang prayed for me for two years. I think that's why I am still alive today. So I am so grateful and feel like I will be thankful to her for the rest of my life."

Shim Woo-ri also said, "My treatment went well, and being invited to such a wonderful stage by my friend has made me realize my lifelong dream. It feels like I lived just for this moment, and I am deeply moved," before breaking down in tears.

After safely concluding their performance, the two were overcome with emotion and sobbed.
