Lee Ru, son of singer Tae Jin-ah, made his return to the stage after a long time, appearing visibly nervous.

The TV Chosun variety program 'Chosun's Lover,' broadcast on the 6th, was specially planned as a three-part series titled 'Chosun's Lover Singing Contest' for its fifth anniversary.

On that day, a special stage featuring Tae Jin-ah and his son Lee Ru took place.

Lee Ru performed the song 'Black Glasses,' which his mother, who suffers from dementia, used to love.

After finishing the performance, Lee Ru said, "I was waiting backstage and felt extremely nervous. It's been a very long time since I stood on stage and sang in front of so many people, especially in front of my father, so I was incredibly nervous."

Lee Ru also expressed his gratitude toward 'Chosun's Lover.' He stated, "Through the broadcast, many people saw our family's life and offered a lot of support and encouragement. Our family seems to have become more united, and this program means too much to me."

MC Kang Su-ji shared her impression, saying, "While listening to the song, I thought of Unnie Ok-gyeong, and my heart was deeply moved."

Following that, Lee Ru performed another song his mother loved, 'Ok-gyeong.' Tae Jin-ah, who had been sitting in the judges' seat, also came onto the stage and shared the performance with his son.

After completing all performances, Lee Ru said, "(Since my mother needs care,) one of us two must stay at home," and quickly returned home instead of Tae Jin-ah.

Previously, in the 2024 'Chosun's Lover' New Year special, Tae Jin-ah first publicly revealed that he had been diligently caring for his wife Ok-gyeong, who is battling dementia, and spending every day with her.

Meanwhile, in September 2022, Lee Ru was caught by police after drinking at a restaurant in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and driving. He faced charges of colluding with female professional golfer A, who was his passenger, to make it appear that A had been driving, leading to an indictment without detention.

He also faced charges in the same year for aiding drunk driving by allowing a friend he had been drinking with to drive and park his vehicle. On the same day, he was also charged with drunk driving at speeds exceeding 180 km/h and crashing into a road guardrail. At the time of the accident, Lee Ru's blood alcohol concentration was 0.075%, which falls under the level for license suspension.

Lee Ru was sentenced to six months in prison, with a one-year probation, for aiding escape of the perpetrator, aiding drunk driving, and violating the Road Traffic Act through drunk driving and speeding.
