MINI Korea announced on the 20th that it signed a university-industry cooperation agreement (MOU) for cultivating specialized sales talent in the automotive sector at Daelim University in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, on the 19th. This agreement was launched to expand the scope of university-industry cooperation beyond its traditional focus on maintenance technology into the sales field and to establish a foundation for recruiting talent through MINI’s official dealer network.

Under the agreement, both parties will operate special recruitment programs for MINI sales consultants, internships, and sales apprenticeship programs targeting current students. MINI official dealers will participate in these programs to identify top talent early on and connect students with hands-on experience to actual employment opportunities.

Key figures including Jung Su-won, Head of MINI Korea; Park Ju-ho, President of Daelim University; and Lee Jeong-ho, Dean of the College, attended the signing ceremony. Additionally, heads of MINI official dealers such as Kooryong Motors, Deutsch Motors, Bavarian Motors, and Dongseong Motors were present, pledging their commitment to talent development cooperation.

Meanwhile, MINI sales dealers at the field level are facing a chronic shortage of personnel. This is because sales consultants who sell MINIs frequently move to BMW sales positions, which offer similar powertrain systems and platforms. The outcome of this university-industry partnership with Daelim University is therefore worth watching closely.
