[Editor’s Note] Reporter Choi Hye-jin introduces hit songs she used to listen to during her "Latte" days.

Seventeen years after the group KARA released "Pretty Girl," it has returned to the stage. This time, it has been reborn with a new voice by the group Lissun.

KARA released their second mini-album "Pretty Girl" in December 2008. The title track of the same name is a teen pop song known for its cheerful melody and bright atmosphere.

In particular, the confident lyrics "Walk confidently anywhere," the easy-to-follow chorus such as "Girl, Pretty Girl, Pretty Girl," and the cute point choreography drew significant attention at the time. Loved by fans for a long time after its release, it remains one of KARA's representative songs.

Seventeen years later, in 2026, "Pretty Girl" has once again appeared before the public through Lissun.

Lissun released their remake single "Pretty Girl" on the 8th. While maintaining the bright and lovely atmosphere of the original song, they added refreshing arrangements and Lissun's unique color to complete a new version.

For Lissun, "Pretty Girl" became a song with special meaning. They achieved their first music show number one just two years after their debut with this track.

On the 14th, during the broadcast of SBS Life's "The Show," Lissun held the number one trophy in their arms. The members shed tears while expressing gratitude to their fans.

A meeting with Nicole, the original artist of KARA, also drew attention. Nicole made a surprise appearance on Mnet's "M Countdown" broadcast on the 9th and shared the stage with Lissun for a performance of "Pretty Girl." This added significance as it was a meeting between the artist who created the song 17 years ago and the junior group that inherited it.

The bright energy of "Pretty Girl" conveyed by KARA is being passed on to a new generation through Lissun once again.
