Rapper YS Block returns with a new EP that encapsulates his own solid musical color and a new milestone.

YS Block will release the new EP 'Black Flag' through various music streaming platforms at 6 p.m. on the 17th.

The new EP 'Black Flag' is an album that clearly captures YS Block's new musical direction. Having previously showcased heavy energy based on Dirty South, YS Block is set to present a further expanded musical palette by organically weaving together diverse genres such as Drift Phonk, House, Hip-Hop, and Indie Funk in this album.

His signature bold and intuitive lyrics and intense energy run through the entire album. The tracks unfold stories that anyone can relate to—ranging from new beginnings and confidence to the complexities of human relationships in reality, love, and sincere emotions—each tailored to the unique atmosphere of its respective track.

The album is composed of tracks with distinct colors, starting with 'Hop Off !', which announces his return with an intense Drift Phonk sound; 'Rock-Paper-Scissors', which contains a candid attitude; 'Sun Glee', a House track with a club mood; and 'Don't Laugh', an Indie Funk song that sincerely incorporates the wounds of relationships within a lively groove. While varying in genre and atmosphere, the album maintains its flow by centering on YS Block's signature intuitive messages and energy.

The title track 'Teekitaika' is included as the third track on the album. Producer PEEJAY, who has collaborated with top-tier artists in the K-pop and hip-hop scenes such as Beenzino, Zion.T, Taeyang, BIGBANG, Epik High, Dynamic Duo, Zico, and Baek Yerin, participated in the song's production to enhance its quality. This collaboration is said to have been realized based on a long-standing musical connection and trust with producer SMOKIE J, drawing further attention.

In particular, the fifth track 'You're the Best (feat. MilliMax)' is a newly reinterpreted version of the song of the same name released as a pre-release in September. The original track entered the TikTok challenge rankings immediately after its release, generating buzz centered on short-form content. In this EP version, rapper MilliMax participates as a featured artist, completing a new combination. His signature positive message and highly addictive hook add to the song's popular appeal.

Since his debut EP 'YS BLOCK Ver.1' in 2021, YS Block has consecutively released the studio albums 'Dirty South Korea' and 'Yongsan', honing his signature rough and energetic Dirty South sound. Having planted a flag with an expanded spectrum and unwavering attitude, YS Block is set to showcase deeper music through this new EP.
