The Lotte Giants held a special event at their home game in Sajik to introduce the culture of the Dominican Republic, the home country of their foreign pitcher Elvin Rodriguez (28).

The Lotte Giants announced that they successfully hosted the "International Day with the Dominican Republic" event during their home game against SSG Landers at Busan Sajik Stadium on the 16th.

According to the Lotte organization, the event was planned to widely share the culture and traditions of the Dominican Republic, hometown of pitcher Elvin Rodriguez, with fans. The Lotte Giants brought the unique and diverse charm of the Dominican Republic to Sajik by blending baseball with music and traditional culture.

Fans who visited the stadium that day were energized by experiencing Bachata (a type of music and dance originating from the Dominican Republic) and Merengue. Additionally, "Diablo Cojuelo," a symbolic character from local traditional carnivals, appeared to offer fans a unique experience, and a cultural quiz event themed around the history and traditions of the Dominican Republic was also held, receiving great response.

A special ceremonial first pitch to mark the start of the game also took place. Anji Shakira Martinez Tejera, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Korea, personally stepped onto the mound to throw the first pitch, further enhancing the significance of cultural and sports exchange between the two countries.

The Lotte organization stated, "Through this event, we plan to expand baseball exchanges with the Dominican Republic and continue building sustained cooperative relationships centered on players from both nations and their local communities."
