World-renowned pop star Taylor Swift (36) has been caught up in an unexpected mockery controversy. This is because the opposing team that defeated her husband's club posted a social media message celebrating their victory, which appeared to be aimed at Swift.

U.S. entertainment outlet TMZ reported on the 27th (Korean time) that Swift fans are strongly objecting over an official social media post by the Seattle Seahawks franchise.

Earlier, on the 26th, Seattle secured a decisive 20-3 victory in their home regular-season game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington state, as part of the 2026 National Football League (NFL) season.

On that day, Seattle dominated throughout the match, overpowering Kansas City. Conversely, Kansas City suffered its first loss of the season, halting their five-game winning streak since the start of the campaign.

However, the controversy erupted after the game ended. The Seattle franchise posted a message on its official social media to celebrate the win, sparking debate over whether it was mocking Swift, the wife of an opposing player.

The post featured friendship bracelets made in white, blue, and green. The bracelets bore the phrase "Seattle Wins." It also included the short message "End Game."

The issue is that both the bracelet and the wording in the post evoke associations with Swift.

Friendship bracelets hold special significance for Swift's fans. A culture of fans exchanging handmade bracelets at Swift's concerts is widely known.

Additionally, "End Game" is also the title of a song included on Swift's album "Reputation," released in 2017.

Ultimately, the Seattle franchise used Swift's symbolic items and song titles while celebrating its victory. Some fans interpreted this as mockery aimed at Swift, going beyond a simple celebration of the win.

The outlet explained, "It is not uncommon for sports teams to lightly mock or provoke opponents online after winning a game."

However, it pointed out, "But making the wife of an opposing player the target of mockery is not common."

Swift's husband is Kansas City star player Travis Kelce (37). Kelce is one of the NFL's representative tight ends. He began dating Swift in 2023 and eventually married her.

Notably, friendship bracelets also feature in the couple's story. Kelce previously drew attention by revealing an anecdote about attempting to hand Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number written on it when he attended one of her concerts.

As a result, the reaction from Swift's fans was fierce. According to reports, some fans poured out strong criticism toward the Seattle franchise, saying it "lacks class."

The outlet conveyed, "Swift's fans are struggling to accept the mocking post that the Seattle franchise uploaded to its official social media."

It added, "Since starting her relationship with Kelce in 2023, Swift has become one of the most prominent figures in the NFL," while noting, "The two are now married."

TMZ also compared Swift to the wives of other NFL stars. The outlet mentioned actress Hailee Steinfeld, wife of Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), and model Olivia Culpo, wife of Christian McCaffrey (San Francisco 49ers), explaining, "They do not face as much intense criticism or mockery as Swift."
