The men’s Under-21 Olympic football national team, targeting the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, has finalized its strongest squad to face powerhouse Mexico in a two-match friendly series.

The Korea Football Association announced on the 2nd the call-up list of 26 players for the Olympic national team that will play two friendlies against the Mexico U-21 national team.

The Olympic national team, led by head coach Kim Eun-jung, will gather at Cheonan Korea Football Park on the 9th to begin intensive training. This is the fourth training camp since Kim Eun-jung took over as head coach in May.

As the squad is called up during the official FIFA November A-match window, a large number of players based in Europe and key K League players were included. Forward Kim Min-su (Rangers), who was consecutively selected for the senior national team in September and October to make his debut, has joined the Olympic team. In addition, Yoon Do-young (Magdeburg) and Kim Ye-geon (Red Star Belgrade), who participated in the recent away trip to Australia, have also been named again. Players performing well on the K League stage, including Ha Jeong-woo (SuwonFC), Choi Byung-wook (JejuSK), and Sung Ye-geon (BucheonFC), were also chosen by Coach Kim.

This national team is composed of 17 players born in 2005, 8 players born in 2006, and 1 player born in 2008. Kim Ye-geon, a 2008-born player from Red Star Belgrade, was named as the youngest player on the list.

Head coach Kim Eun-jung stated, “Following our away match against Australia, this is a good opportunity to gain practical experience against a strong team like Mexico, identify areas for improvement in our team, and elevate our competitiveness to the next level.”

The Olympic national team will play the first match against Mexico in a closed-door session at Korea Football Park at 4 p.m. on the 14th.
