"The team that came up from below has its batting form on the rise. The No. 1 team must rely on pitching to hold on through Games 1 and 2," he said, adding, "I believe we have a significant advantage in our starting rotation."

"Our strength is defense. In the lineup, our left-handed hitters are an asset, so I think we may have the edge over KT. To break down KT's quality pitchers, our left-handed lineup will need to deliver at the plate."

KT Manager Lee Kang-cheol and Samsung Manager Park Jin-man revealed their Korea Series strategies while sizing up their opponents.

The media day for the 2026 KBO Postseason Korea Series (KS) was held on the 2nd in the Grand Ballroom of the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

KT was represented by Manager Lee Kang-cheol, Jang Sung-woo, and So Hyoung-jun, while Samsung sent Manager Park Jin-man, Koo Ja-yuk, and Won Tae-in.

Following the managers, a lively exchange of words also unfolded among the players.

KT captain Jang Sung-woo directed his remarks at close friend Kang Min-ho, the Samsung catcher who has yet to win a Korea Series ring. "Minho hyung keeps telling me, 'Let's just put on one ring together.' Today, he even joked and asked for just one chance," Jang said. "There is no such thing as that in the world of competition. I'm sorry, but it seems we will have a bit of difficulty putting on a ring this time around as well," he declared his intent to win.

In response, Won Tae-in expressed his determination for victory: "I have an immense desire to always be on the pitcher's mound at the final moment of a championship. If I am the starting pitcher in the game that clinches the title, I want to finish it with a complete-game shutout; if I am in the bullpen, I want to close it out with a save."
