Singer d4vd (real name David Burke) is claiming innocence after being arrested on charges of killing a teenage girl.

According to U.S. media outlet TMZ on the 20th (local time), D4vd is pleading not guilty to charges of murder and other offenses related to the death of 14-year-old Celeste Ribas. He is also reportedly pressuring the Prosecution Service to either disclose all evidence or drop the charges.

The case came to light last September after a report of a foul odor emanating from a vehicle. Police who responded reportedly discovered the victim's decomposed head and torso in a bag found in the car's trunk.

Subsequently, the Los Angeles County Prosecution Service indicted D4vd on charges of lewd and obscene sexual acts with a child under 14 and desecration of a corpse.

According to the Prosecution Service, Celeste was under 14 when D4vd repeatedly engaged in sexual relations with her. When Celeste threatened to expose the relationship and ruin his music career, D4vd allegedly killed her with a "sharp tool" and desecrated her body. The service explained that Celeste's decomposed body was left inside a car for over four months from late April to early September 2025 before being discovered in a vehicle at a tow truck storage facility.

D4vd, indicted on first-degree murder charges with special aggravating circumstances including premeditated murder, commission for financial gain, and killing of a witness, appeared in court today. D4vd's side denied all charges and requested the court to hold a preliminary hearing within 10 days. This move is seen as an attempt to leverage the fact that if the Prosecution Service fails to prepare witnesses and evidence during the preliminary hearing, the judge can dismiss the case immediately.

Meanwhile, D4vd gained popularity by making a name for himself on social media (SNS) platforms such as TikTok with songs like "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me." Both tracks garnered hundreds of millions of views on YouTube. He also made his first visit to Korea in 2023 and actively promoted his music, including appearances on music shows such as M Countdown.
