BTS V's time as a recruit and his heartwarming deeds were revealed late. V recently shared an incident that occurred during religious activities while reminiscing with fellow members about their military service during a Weverse live broadcast.

V reportedly asked recruits attending Catholic Mass for their baptismal names, prompting one recruit to answer, "I like Modicaizer, Miss Fortune, and Lux (game characters)!" which drew laughter.

A fellow recruit who watched the broadcast revealed the anecdote more than a year after his discharge. He stated that at the time of his enlistment, news of two BTS members joining the military had become a hot topic, and he was assigned to the same 1st platoon as V. He also mentioned that V gifted Hanwoo beef to the recruits, saying, "You've worked hard."

The recruit added that they watched a Christmas church musical together, and after the performance, when V bowed his head to leave in response to a request for a greeting, the crowd erupted in cheers when he waved goodbye at the end. Speaking about V's role as a platoon leader he volunteered for, the recruit said, "He was truly kind and positive, always leading people in a good direction. He was also very playful and a generous person with a big heart."

V enlisted on December 11, 2023, and completed his service with the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the Army 2nd Corps Military Police Unit after basic training. During his service, he treated seniors and juniors to meals and donated exercise equipment. Seniors and juniors unanimously agreed that V was "someone they could comfortably confide in and rely on." After his discharge, he also showed loyalty by visiting the unit to celebrate his junior's discharge ceremony just 40 days later.
