Kim Hyun-ji, a PD at MBC Gyeongnam who had criticized Won-i of the group Lisenna for using dialect as an "Ilbe expression," has closed her social media (SNS) account.

As of the 6th, Kim Hyun-ji's SNS account has been switched to private.

Earlier, on the 1st, PD Kim Hyun-ji posted on SNS regarding Won-i's dialect: "I saw a highly praised YouTube clip where a female idol and a PD were playfully exchanging 'no no,' which made me very upset." She added, "Although dialect researchers have repeatedly pointed out that this usage is grammatically incorrect, young people are naturally using the non-standard 'no'."

She further stated, "When one realizes that an expression stems from hate speech, the choice becomes a matter of attitude," and emphasized that speakers of Gyeongsang dialect need to reflect on this.

However, after this, subtitles from MBC Gyeongnam's variety show 'Yap! Vitality Heaven,' in which PD Kim Hyun-ji had previously participated, were re-examined for their use of Gyeongsang dialect, such as "Mwora-hano?", "Yeotnal-e geureon mareul deureol yeoga eoditno?", and "Yaga museun joe-reul jitgo jeoraega onno?"—leading to a backlash against her instead.

Meanwhile, this controversy erupted last month on the 28th when, during an interview on Won-i's YouTube channel, the PD said, "Here came a rattling sound. What is it? Are you scared?" and Won-i replied, "Scared. Even the lighting is scary."

Subsequently, claims emerged that the expression '-no' is used in the far-right community Ilbe (Daily Best Storage) to demean the late President Roh Moo-hyun, sparking further controversy.
