Actor Kim Soo-hyun (38) has signaled his resumption of activities after a break of one year and four months.

Kim Soo-hyun recently confirmed his participation in the new campaign for Philippine clothing brand Bench, with advertising video and photo shoots scheduled to take place domestically on the 14th. Previously, his agency Gold Medalist stated last month that "Kim Soo-hyun will begin filming for a Bench advertisement on July 14."

This marks his return to activities approximately one year and four months after suffering reputational damage due to controversies involving YouTuber Kim Se-ui.

Notably, Bench had previously selected Kim Soo-hyun as its model in 2024. The brand's decision to maintain loyalty toward him even amid the controversy has drawn significant attention to this collaboration.

Kim Soo-hyun suffered immense harm, halting all activities for one year and four months due to reckless claims made by YouTuber Kim Se-ui. Kim Se-ui had alleged that adult actor Kim Soo-hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron during her minor years. However, recordings and mobile messenger conversations provided by Kim Se-ui were all revealed to be "fabricated" following investigations by law enforcement authorities. Consequently, Kim Se-ui was arrested and prosecuted on charges including defamation for spreading false information. He is currently detained at Seoul Detention Center. The first court hearing is scheduled to take place in August.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun's next project will be Disney+'s new original series "Knock Off."
