Actor Jung Il-woo revealed that he was the first developer of the 'Dalgona coffee' recipe.

On the 21st, a video titled "Debuting 20th Anniversary Actor Jung Il-woo and 10-Year Friend Ahn Jae-hyun in Unrestrained High Tension" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Alttalddalhan Chamgyeon'.

When Jung Il-woo mentioned his past variety show appearance on KBS 2TV's 'Chef's Table', Ahn Jae-hyun said, "During the COVID-19 period, Jung Il-woo developed a coffee there first. It was Dalgona coffee. He was the one who first broadcasted it."

In response, Jung Il-woo said, "I even did interviews with The New York Times and the BBC using that," adding, "At the time, I heard that Dalgona coffee recipes were the number one search term worldwide on Google."

Recalling that period, Ahn Jae-hyun laughed, saying, "But only 'Jung Il-woo' was left out there, and only 'Dalgona' went up."

Heo Kyung-hwan expressed regret, saying, "You should have filed a patent," to which Jung Il-woo replied, "I didn't think of that."

Meanwhile, Dalgona coffee gained significant attention around 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic as a recipe to alleviate the boredom of self-isolation. It was a home cafe drink made by whisking instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until creamy, then pouring it over milk.
